Thank you so much to the team at Lea Rowing Club for help making our wedding day such a success. Organising a wedding in a pandemic is no mean feat but Stephen and JC were amazing throughout: from helping us find a new date twice owing due to lockdowns, to making sure everything ran smoothly on the day! The venue itself is unlike anything else out there, bringing a little bit of rural charm to a London location. We were able to put our own stamp on an already beautiful space that made the day feel truly ours. JC in particular was brilliant in helping us put into place all the little touches that we wanted and on the day his team were impeccable. We couldn’t be happier and can’t wait to visit again. We loved our wedding at the Lea Rowing Club. Organising a wedding during Covid was no mean feat, but Stephen and his team supported us every step of the way and always with a smile. They were very responsive, organised and brilliant with all our suppliers, which made a huge difference especially as we chose not to use a wedding planner. The venue is already a lovely space so we had to do very little to decorate it, but Stephen was happy to let us use flowers and simple decorations to add some flair.Thanks so much to Stephen and particularly JC, the bar manager, who was brilliant! We had the most incredible day at the boathouse. We hired the bar and study and the venue looked beautiful on a glorious June day. All our guests were so impressed at the little hidden gem in the city! Stephen and JC were so helpful-especially as we had to postpone and change things around due to Covid. But they were both on hand to answer any questions and help arrange everything we needed and the day ran seamlessly. The bar staff were fantastic too, and our guests had a brilliant time. The Boathouse was everything we had been looking for in a venue-as soon as we visited we knew it would be the perfect location for our day-it’s a beautiful space, full of character, while remaining relaxed and fun too. We had such an amazing day for our August wedding at the Lea Rowing Club. We had a hybrid Hindu/Christian wedding where we needed to cater for different diets, a hybrid ceremony and our own vision on decor. I would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to do their own thing. The club met our every need and supported us seamlessly. We felt very lucky when we found this venue as it is tricky to find a bright and airy hall with AC that can also shift gears for the evening when you want to dim the lighting and adjourn to the cosy bar attached. The balcony with a view of the narrow boats was a lovely bonus. So many of our guests said it was such a great day and I’m sure the venue was a big part of that. Angel Brown
Countryside in the city!The Lea Rowing Club is a really special venue – you get the feel of being out in the countryside, with wide open spaces and river views, but with the convenience of being 15 minutes from central London.
We had our wedding here last September – a sit-down barbecue meal for 120 people (we hired long trestle tables) with an extra 40 guests arriving in the evening. The hall is a fantastic and versatile space with a wooden floor and clean white walls – bright and airy during the day, with dimmable lights for evening. We added loads of bright paper lanterns and fairy lights to make the space really special. The bar area too has a great feel to it – recently refurbished with high quality details and mid-century furniture.
We had a 5 piece band and dance-floor in the main hall followed by a more intimate DJ set in the bar area – the flexibility of the rooms worked really well.As a ‘regular’ at the Club, I can also vouch for the on-site caterers – they are excellent value and will really look after you. Liz and Colin
It really was perfect for our event and day. I particularly wanted to thank you for the bar staffs fabulous work on the night, you looked after us brilliantly and whilst a lot of people commented on how great the venue was and looked, quite a few friends said how fantastic the staff were – and you looked after us a treat, handed over bubbles at all the right moments and were a joy. Thanks again, the whole thing couldn’t have been better – and your venue was a huge part of that.

I had the most lovely party. The room looked lovely with the fairy lights, it all worked very well, Francisco provided good food and Pedro did a good job at the Bar. The wines were praised, so thanks to his suggestions, and the Champagne was generally very much appreciated.

We had a wonderful wedding party at the Lea Rowing Club in June. It was perfect for our party of 80 friends and family with great catering available, a charming bar and club house and wonderful balconies with views over the river. Everyone who came loved the venue and the secret charm of this spot in London. A great find for an event.

Hi Stephen Just off on honeymoon but wanted to email you to say how much we loved the boathouse! It was such an amazing venue and Pedro and the staff were so much fun and so quick to serve on the bar! They really went above and beyond expectations and did an amazing job, the guests loved them!
